Rethinking archiving: Why it´s important to adapt existing processes.

Neu-Isenburg, March 21, 2024 – As IT structures, priorities and technical possibilities are constantly changing, it is essential to regularly scrutinize existing archiving concepts. The archiving experts at KGS Software GmbH have identified six occasions when it is worth rethinking archiving.

In view of the increasing digitalization and use of cloud services, it is important to make traditional archiving processes fit for the future. The use of automation tools can achieve enormous improvements here, for example through automated metadata assignments or search algorithms. However, companies are also called upon to question their principles and, if necessary, rely on new file formats, interfaces or encryption technologies in order to ensure long-term archiving and data integrity in accordance with guidelines. It is also important that a modern archiving platform can be easily integrated into the user's workflow so that it is used accordingly.
