Neu-Isenburg, September 20, 2023 - The upcoming end of support for SAP ECC is getting closer and closer and the window of opportunity to move to SAP S/4HANA is closing. HANA database technology is very expensive, especially when certain thresholds are exceeded in higher volumes. Therefore, it is advisable for companies to also set up their archiving concept for the future as a starting signal for the transformation. KGS Software GmbH has published a checklist for the change to the cloud.
The checklist scrutinizes the various aspects of data, document and archive management, because these are not only cost-intensive, but also time-consuming. In addition, storing large amounts of data on HANA is cost-intensive and not very sustainable. It is therefore all the more important to set the right course when changing systems, i.e. to introduce the right archiving principle.
With its 10 questions, the checklist leads the reader to various insights and in this way helps companies to know, even before the start of their migration project, where they need to proceed with particular care. From the question of how to deal with unstructured data, retention requirements, the new CMIS technology to questions about the in-memory database, cost savings and compliance challenges, the checklist addresses all the important archiving aspects of a migration to the cloud.
